GRWM | Facial exfoliating & pampering

Hello, lovelies! How are you feeling today? Did you have a good weekend? I had a very relaxing one! For the first time in a few weeks, I was able to just stay at home and do nothing all day. It feels good sometimes to just relax and treat yourself. Well, besides doing nothing, I did a little skin care routine that I try to do twice a week. I have to say I am the worst when it comes to taking care of my skin. I love buttering up my body with some Nivea body cream, but I fail to do it often. And the same goes with my face. I have a mixed skin: oily and normal. I tend to have oily spots on my forehead and a very small part of my cheeks next to my ears. These are the hormonal spots and if you have acne around here, it’s most likely a hormonal type of acne/blemishes. I get these too often, but I think I’ve finally discovered a good treatment to keep them to a minimum.

This is what I want to share with you today. A Get Ready With Me: Facial exfoliating and pampering. I start by washing my face with lukewarm water and a cleanser. I don’t have a specific brand I love, I just choose one that it’s gentle and fragrance-free, so that my skin doesn’t react to it. I sometimes use a facial brush to get really into my skin and brush off dead skin cells and remove rests of make-up and dirt. But remember: you really have to be gentle when using the brush; your skin is sensitive, it doesn’t need harsh exfoliating. Coconut oil is also great and very gentle on your face to remove make-up. Then, I do an exfoliating mask: honey, brown sugar and coconut oil. You don’t even have to add coconut oil to it. These are basic ingredients, that almost everyone has in their home. You can substitute white sugar for the brown, but you have to be more careful because the grains are slightly bigger.

After, I apply a tonic to clean any rests of the scrub and to tighten my skin. I let it dry and finally apply a moisturiser. As I have a combination of oily and normal skin, I use the Matifying Gel Cream or the 24h Intense Hydrating Gel Cream, both from Yves Rocher. And that’s it! This process is fairly quick, so if you don’t have a lot of time or just can’t be bothered with cleaning your skin, try it! You can even do a few of these steps in between your house chores or washing dishes. But, let’s face it, if you’re over 20, you know you should start treating better care of your skin! Let’s do it together?

Salut!
