Hello, dears! How are you today and how hard was your Monday? Thinking positively, tomorrow’s already the middle of the week! I like to start my Mondays the best I can, so it settles the beginning of a great week! I do things I love and have a special dinner, so it still feels a little like Sunday. Anyhoo, today I thought I would talk about Goodreads and its book reading challenge!
I’ve always wanted to find a Book Club to discuss my opinions on a few books I’ve read or will read, and I thought I could start with sharing my opinions here on the website. However, when reading a few posts from other bloggers, I’ve come across this challenge on Goodreads (see my ‘to read’ list here). How come didn’t I know about this already? Yeah, I ask myself the same question! So, as motivation but also to keep myself accountable, I’ve decided I’ll read 50 books in 2017. I mean, I don’t think this is going to be that difficult for me, but I do know I love a good challenge! Furthermore, when seeing my list of ‘already read’ increasing, I’ll feel proud of myself and it will keep me going (maybe I’ll even go over 50?).
I decided to do this because one, it’s fun! and two, I want to encourage my boyfriend to read a little more (he rarely reads anything), and he’s quite a competitive person – let’s rather say he’s extremely competitive! So, I thought this challenge would be good for him! I also thought that it could be motivating for anyone who would like to read more or just have a list of everything they’ve been reading. So, join in! I’d love to see what you’re reading! You can add me at Goodreads (link is up) and we can also share some comments and opinions on a few books. Or you can just do the challenge and share your results! And if you don’t know what books to start with, I’ll leave here Shannon’s blog because she’s out-of-this-world-creative (check out her DIY bookmarks – I’m in love!) and she loves reading too! She has a post about a few books on her ‘to read’ list, check it out and maybe you’ll have a few ideas on what to read yourself.
What do you think about this challenge? And are you going to join in? I’m extremely excited to be part of it and can’t wait for the end of 2017 to see how many I’ve read!
Happy readings, catreaders!
