Hi friends! So I was nominated for the Liebster Award! How cool is that? And it was the wonderful, amazing Sophie who nominated me for this! She’s truly talented, please check her blog and prepare to be amazed! So, Sophie has written down a few questions I need to answer. Check them below!
What made you start your blog?
I’d had two other blogs when I was 13/15 and they were in Portuguese – my mother tongue. However, I had never really tried to do something special with them. It was just about writing and I didn’t even share them. It was mostly for me. Now, I’ve always dreamt of having my own blog and YouTube channel (yes, crazy, cliché, right?) but I wasn’t confident enough to create a channel, so I decide to start where I felt a bit more comfortable with – and yes, that was writing! So, here I am, almost a year after I created this blog, loving writing every day and connecting with so many of you beautiful readers!
What’s your favourite thing about your blog?
My favourite thing is that I have the opportunity of connecting with so many people, who also love writing (and many love reading too!). I love sharing my life and dreams, but I also love the cosy feeling I get from this little corner of the internet.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned this year?
That life will always throw you curve balls. And the way I choose to deal and see something is the actually thing that will affect how I live my life. I’ve learned that I control my life. I control my feelings. And I am the one who always has the last word. I’ve learned that I am happy, I will be happy and I will accomplish anything I set my mind to, because I can and I control. Even with a thousand curve balls thrown at the same time.
What’s your favourite book?
I talked about this on a previous post, but the thing is I cannot choose one. I love every single book I read. If I don’t love it, I’ll stop reading it. So, every book I’ve ever read, I love!
What’s your favourite scent of candle?
I’d have to say vanilla/coconut. Is that boring? I’m super picky when it comes to scents and I LOVE when the whole house smells of coconut! I had a huge candle I got from Primark and it diffused the coconut scent amazingly through the house! I’m actually sorry it’s finished now and I urgently need a new one! I also love Party Lite candles, they smell incredible! I’m lucky enough my mother-in-law always has tons and she just gives them away.
What mainly inspires your blog posts?
I love writing about topics that are close to my heart. I love writing about beauty and books and life experiences that have affected me or closed ones. Anything you’ll read here will be something I’m truly passionate about.
Who inspires you the most?
Honestly? Cliché as it is, my dad and my sis. My dad is the strongest person I know. He battled and suffered more than anyone I know. He’s not perfect and we have many things in your relationship that are not solved nor will be. However, I could not imagine losing the love of your life and still carry on, especially carry the whole world on your back, with 2 babies on your arms, and a million holes opening up beneath your feet, whilst struggling to not fall into any. And my sis too. The determination, the intelligence, the creativity. She’s become everything and more I could ever ask her to be. She’s humble, open-minded, the best friend ANY friend could ever ask for and she has the biggest heart. If I ever fail at being benevolent, I think of what she would do. I think of how she would fix it.
Do you prefer giving or receiving presents?
Definitely giving. I actually have a very bad relationship with giving presents because I cannot stop myself. I don’t think one present is enough – ever! – and so I always offer two or three (or sometimes more) presents for Christmas or birthdays! Especially for my boyfriend, sister and dad, I just can’t choose one, so I always buy more. The pressure is too much with only one! This way, I make sure they’ll at least enjoy one!
What is your favourite post on your blog?
This is actually incredibly difficult to choose, but I’d say my short story posts? Or this lookbook (that I actually had SO much work completing!). I don’t know! Do you see my problem with choosing? What is your favourite post here on my blog?
What is your favourite day of the year?
L’s birthday. I just feel the happiest giving him everything I have in me. I love seeing how happy he gets with the smallest things and I love making him the centre of everyone’s worlds. When he’s smiling, I’m smiling, and his day – even though he does not have the same feeling toward his own birthday – his day makes me the happiest.
