Hello, everyone! What better way to start the week than with the most beautiful, amazing libraries spread around the world? This is a list I created, therefore these are my personal choices. If you know of any other special libraries I haven’t mentioned in this post, please do share them with us in the comments below! I think all of us here, on A Reading Cat, will be pleased to find out about more libraries we can visit. So, this is my list, rated from my number 10 to my number 1, my favourite between all of these. Enjoy!
10. Trinity College Old Library, Dublin, Ireland
I love this! How incredible would it be to walk down these corridors?
9. Centrale Bibliotheek, Amsterdam, Netherlands
What I really like about this one is the little nooks created by the circular bookshelves.
8. Josรฉ Vasconcelos Library, Mexico City, Mexico
I love this little hidden space. I don’t love the building nor its factory-like bookshelves but these little spaces make this library a must-see for me.
7. Boston Public Library, Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Can you imagine studying here!? How amazing would this be? It also looks so quiet. And it’s in Boston, so what else to say?
6. Stockholm Public Library, Stockholm, Sweden
I love the high ceilings on this one and the fact that you have tons of room to study or read a good book. The bookshelves are also pretty awesome.
5. Sainte-Geneviรจve Library, Paris, France
Almost a copy-cat of the Boston one, however I love the fact that you’re right next to some amazing bookshelves and the architecture of this place is insane.
4. Stuttgart City Library, Stuttgart, Germany ย
Clean, right!? It’s almost too perfect for me. I love how organised and well-structured it looks like and the couches look very comfy.
3. Sir Duncan Rice Library, Aberdeen, United Kingdom
The white is definitely a themed on my choices. This one is in my top 3 because of its floors and shape. I like it slightly more than the previous one because it looks cosier.
2. Mortlock Wing State Library, Adelaide, Australia
Wow! Just wow! This is what dreams are made of. I can imagine myself losing track of time and being asked to leave at the end of the day. It makes me want to go back to school just to have a reason to be in here!
1. Glucksman Library, Limerick, Ireland
This one is extra special for me and therefore earns 1st place. Obviously, I studied here and actually spent a lot of my time in this library. I loved it. It wasn’t extremely beautiful or quirky but it holds a special place in my heart. It’s now getting an extension, which will actually turn it into an amazing place, so that’s another reason why it’s the best one for me.
What are some of your favourite libraries in the world? Until next time…
