Hi, everyone! Welcome back 🙂
I just had to tell you about my latest obsession: Penelope Douglas! I fell in love when I first read “Birthday Girl”; funnily enough, I had it in my wish list on Amazon for the longest time but I just had the idea that this book was a thriller one and so, never actually bought it. A few months later, I was looking for a book with an older male – kind of like Christian Grey but more believable – and would ya know that Goodreads has an entire list on this category!? I was shocked! And thrilled! And “Birthday Girl” was the first book on this list. I obviously got it and got so wrapped up in the story that I finished it in one sitting. It was honestly too good. It really filled in all my “needs” check-list at the time. So, this was the first time I fell in love with Penelope. But, if a book is this good, does it mean that the others are too? Not always!
And because you could probably tell by this title, I am obsessed with her! Meaning, I’ve been reading a lot more of her books. And I’ve been loving them! I don’t even have a favourite but Birthday Girl has a special place in my heart because it was the first.
I just loooove this photo of the characters. I think it’s pretty similar to what I had imagined in my head. I found it here at Insaziabili Letture’s blog! And this next montage too, cos it depicts the best moments in the novel!
The second book I read by her was Bully. At first, I wasn’t really keen on the idea of bullies becoming lovers and I even bought this as a mistake because I pressed the “buy” button instead of “get an excerpt”… *smart*
I’m glad I did, though! It was a beautiful book and I totally fell in love with Tate and Jared. They were great characters and the only thing I had to say when I finished the book was that I wish there had been more. It wasn’t enough! And I was quite disappointed.
Montage found here and posted by Christy. But, wouldn’t you know, there was MORE!!! I knew there were more books to the collection but I thought it was the story of other characters and I wasn’t into that at all. I just wasn’t interested. Once again, I was proven wrong because I started reading…
And I’m loving it! I haven’t finished it yet but I’m almost done. I’m still unsure whether I’ll read the next one or just skip to Jared and Tate’s story again. I’ll let you know!
If you’re looking for an easy and addictive read, I’d definitely recommend this series! It’s been amazing and Penelope has stolen my heart. I’ll keep reading more of hers, for sure.
