A Diabetes Update: Omnipod!

The BEST invention (so far) in the Diabetes world! Well, to me, anyways. The Omnipod is the easiest insulin pump I’ve found so far and I can’t wait to get it in December!

If you’re in the UK or Europe, you know you have to go through a week of training at the hospital to get a pump and here in France you need to book it a few months, if not longer, in advance. In August, I was told that I would do this week’s training at the beginning of 2020, but there weren’t any dates set yet. I was a little bummed out because I really wanted this pump before going to Guatemala (oh yeah! We’re going to Guatemala for 2 weeks in November!) but hey ho, you can’t choose and I was too late. Fast-forward to early September when I phoned the hospital to give them my final decision on what pump I wanted to go for, and the lovely nurse told me someone had dropped out of the training happening in December and I could get their place instead! You can imagine, I was thrilled!

So, now, I’m getting my Omnipod in December! How cool is that!? I can’t wait to share with you how it works and if I love it as much as I do now without having tried it out – I sure hope so!
